Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Verbify — the website at verbify.co.uk and the Verbify apps. Using Verbify means agreeing to them. They are written plainly on purpose; nothing here is meant to catch you out.

What Verbify is

Verbify is a practice tool for Spanish irregular verb forms. It is designed for learners who already know the grammar and want faster recall. It is not a complete Spanish course, a translator, or a substitute for a teacher.

Accounts

You can use Verbify without an account. If you create one, you need a working email address or an Apple account, and you must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live — at least 13, and older if your country requires it.

You are responsible for access to your email account, because that is how signing in works. Verbify has no passwords.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Doing so removes your data as described in the privacy policy.

About the verb data

Using it fairly

Please do not:

• try to break, overload or probe the service, or get at data that is not yours;
• automate the Daily Challenge or otherwise fake scores. Scores are calculated on our servers from your actual answers, so this mostly wastes your time — but we may remove leaderboard entries and accounts that do it;
• choose a leaderboard name that is offensive, impersonates someone, or exists to advertise something. We may change or remove such names;
• copy the verb dataset out of the service to redistribute it as your own.

The leaderboard

Taking part is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, the name you choose, your score and your rank are visible to other players. Your email address never is. You can turn it off at any time in Settings.

One ranked attempt per day. You are welcome to replay the challenge for practice, but replays are not scored on the board.

Availability

We will try to keep Verbify running and to give notice of planned downtime, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. Ordinary practice is designed to keep working offline, so a problem with our servers should not stop you drilling.

We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue something you rely on, or shut down the service, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

Price

Verbify is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features we will say so clearly before you are asked to pay for anything, and existing free functionality will not be taken away without notice.

Our responsibility to you

Verbify is provided as it is. We do not promise that using it will produce any particular result in your Spanish.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, while Verbify is free, is nothing.

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect.

Ending it

You can stop using Verbify and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why first.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will give notice in the app before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use Verbify afterwards means accepting the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
